Fort Laramie in Goshen County, Wyoming U.S.A. is just a 20-Minute drive out of Torrington, from U.S. Highway: 85 at U.S. Highway: 26, heading West, and from U.S. Interstate 25, take Exit: 92, East for about 28-Miles, on U.S. Highway: 26.
"The Greater Fort Laramie Community Development Association" has recently purchased the old "Fort Laramie School Building" and are now in the "planning stages" of offering exciting and interesting features for the residents of Fort Laramie, as well as, the other surrounding Towns and Counties, and for all of the travelers and tourists that visit the Town of Fort Laramie.
The "Fort Laramie Historical Site" remains open to visitors "all year" . . . From October 1st through April 30th - 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. - With extended hours of "dawn to dusk" from May 1st until September 30th.
Throughout the year they offer an "Orientation Film" - "Self-Guided Tours" and "Audio Tours" and actual "Living History Demonstrations" are also scheduled seasonally.
"The Fort" will now also be assisting with the full operation of our recently re-opened "Fort Laramie Tourists & Travelers Information Center" located on U.S. Highway: 26, in Fort Laramie, and additional information about all of Fort Laramie's businesses can be obtained there too.
